After nearly a year of switching our system from "old school" cards to the Surpass network, we are JUST ABOUT there! Susan Williams and I successfully catalogued and barcoded each non-fiction and fiction book and they are ready for check out. Yahoo!!!!! A HUGE thanks to Susan - she dedicated two solid days to labeling our books and making the library easily accessible to our congregation.
There are still a few small sections that need some TLC (children and young adults) but for the most part we're good to go. For those sections continue to use the card check-out method.
The fiction section is located in the shelves on the east wall (parallel to the highway); non-fiction books are in alphabetical order (as are the fiction books) on the south wall (the tall shelves). They are no longer in sections by categories; this may change in time, but for now we decided our patrons would be best served if able to find their favorite authors.
One other change: you will no longer see a basket for returns on the computer table. When returning materials, please log in to the computer and click on "check in" - rescan your book and re-shelve the book in the same section that you originally found it.

It's been such a pleasure for me to go through each and every book as they've been moved to the new system. We have SO MUCH from which to learn and armor ourselves from His Word! Glory to God that we have access to such a variety of materials that honor Him.
